Earth Tone Olla Massachusetts and AlabamaThis coil built vase draws inspiration from Ancestral Puebloan ollas once used to gather and store water. Created in September 2024, its the first piece in which I combined coil building with wild clay terra sigillata. The surface motifs are rooted in my study of Bassa Kwomo (Central Nigeria) pottery but reinterpreted through my Earth Tone decorating slips.
